Ruby Rose Drops Sickening Assault Allegations Against Katy Perry

The internet is currently spiraling over a massive, incredibly graphic bombshell dropped by Australian actress and singer Ruby Rose. In a series of chaotic social media posts over the weekend, the 40-year-old former Orange is the New Black star explicitly accused pop superstar Katy Perry of sexually assaulting her at a Melbourne nightclub more than a decade ago. Perry’s camp has aggressively fired back, but with screenshots circulating through the music industry and past allegations against Perry resurfacing, the story is rapidly gaining traction.

The drama ignited on Threads when Rose was responding to a post about Perry, who was recently spotted at Coachella with her boyfriend, former Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, poking fun at Justin Bieber’s headlining set. Out of nowhere, Rose replied that Katy Perry sexually assaulted her at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne, adding that nobody should care what the pop star thinks.

As followers scrambled to process the comment, Rose doubled down in follow-up posts, offering incredibly graphic details about the alleged encounter. According to Rose, she was attempting to avoid Perry at the club by resting on her best friend's lap. Rose claims Perry then bent down, pulled aside her own underwear, and rubbed her vagina on her face until her eyes snapped open and she projectile vomited on her. While Rose didn’t pinpoint an exact date, the timeline matches up with August 2010, a period when multiple news outlets documented the two stars socializing and attending the popular Spice Market venue together.

Naturally, the immediate question from the public was why she waited nearly 15 years to say anything. Rose addressed this directly, claiming she initially tried to spin the horrifying encounter into a funny drunk story because she didn't know how else to handle the trauma. She further alleged that she kept quiet because Perry offered to help her secure a US visa, a crucial step for Rose, who would go on to land her breakout role in Netflix's Orange is the New Black a few years later.

Rose wrote that later Perry agreed to help her get her US visa, so she kept it a secret, adding that the psychological manipulation from the pop star was incredibly strong. Rose added that it has taken two decades to find her voice regarding the assault, stating that she is now 40 and it just shows how much of an impact trauma takes. She boldly declared that she has photographs and witnesses to back up her claims, and openly welcomed a lawsuit if Perry wanted to take the matter to court.

Perry’s team did not waste time shutting down the narrative. Speaking to The Sun, a spokesperson for the pop star issued a blistering denial, stating that the allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose are not only categorically false, but they are dangerous, reckless lies. The statement didn't stop there. Perry's team took a direct shot at Rose's credibility, adding that Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.

It is true that the two have a frayed history. Back in 2017, Rose publicly hammered Perry over her song "Swish Swish," which was rumored to be a diss track aimed at Taylor Swift. At the time, Rose called Perry's music a sloppy mess, before later backtracking and blaming her own behavior on being bullied in school.

While Rose and Perry's complicated backstory might lead some to view this as a celebrity feud gone nuclear, this isn't the first time Perry has been accused of crossing physical boundaries. Back in 2018, model Josh Kloss, who starred in Perry's 2010 "Teenage Dream" music video, claimed that during a party, Perry pulled his sweatpants and underwear down to expose his genitals to a crowd of her friends. He described the incident as making him feel pathetic and embarrassed.

That same year, Perry faced heavy backlash for tricking a 19-year-old American Idol contestant into kissing her on the lips. The contestant, Benjamin Glaze, later stated he wanted his first kiss to be special and that he felt uncomfortable immediately, though he stopped short of calling it sexual harassment. The following year, Russian TV host Tina Kandelaki publicly alleged that an intoxicated Perry had touched her inappropriately at a private party.

When asked about the mounting allegations in 2020, Perry dismissed them as noise. She stated she didn't want to say guilty until proven innocent, but noted there are no checks and balances when a headline just flies. She added that she doesn't comment on all the things said about her because it would distract from the real movement.

For now, the music industry is watching to see who moves next. With Rose claiming she has receipts and witnesses, and Perry’s team threatening legal-level language, this story is far from over. Drop your thoughts in the comments on whether this is a desperate cry for attention or a long-overdue reckoning for one of the world's biggest pop stars.
