For more than two decades, Kyle Sandilands was one of the biggest names in Australian breakfast radio. In 2026, that era came to an abrupt end — and the shock jock is now rebuilding his career from scratch, on his own platform, with his own studio.

What happened
Sandilands and his long-time co-host Jackie "O" Henderson had, since 2004, built The Kyle and Jackie O Show into Sydney's dominant breakfast program on KIIS 106.5, part of the ARN Media network. In late 2023, the pair signed a landmark 10-year contract reportedly worth around $200 million, locking them in with ARN until 2034 and underpinning the network's push to expand the show into Melbourne and beyond (Wikipedia; Mister Brisbane).
That partnership fell apart in February 2026. During a live broadcast on 20 February, while discussing a news story, Sandilands accused Henderson on air of being "off with the fairies" and said her interest in astrology and horoscopes had made her "almost unworkable" (The Independent; Wikipedia). Weeks later, ARN Media confirmed to the ASX that Henderson had given notice she "cannot continue to work with Mr Kyle Sandilands," and terminated her services agreement. A new platform, launching in August. His manager and longtime collaborator Bruno Bouchet has confirmed that Kyle Sandilands Live will launch on Monday, 10 August 2026, through a standalone subscription app. The show will run live from 6am to 10am — the same breakfast slot Sandilands occupied for over 20 years — but with a very different format: uncensored, ad-free, combining live audio and video, and taking video calls from listeners instead of traditional phone-ins.
