We have seen some wild police encounters, but a new video out of Western Australia is sparking massive internet outrage. Viral footage has captured the absolutely chaotic moment an off-duty police officer physically pinned a 13-year-old Indigenous girl to the floor of a busy commuter train before pushing her into a window.
The wildly intense clip, filmed by the teen's panicked friend, shows the plainclothes cop standing over the girl between his legs during a Sunday afternoon ride from Joondalup to Perth. The situation escalates aggressively when he suddenly grabs the teenager by her shirt and forcefully shoves her into a nearby seat. A loud, sickening thud can be heard as her head hits the glass, prompting her friends to scream out in absolute horror.
"Fk off, don’t touch me. I’m doing nothing. I’m not f*ing resisting," the crying teenager yells out as the officer uses his leg to pin her against the carriage wall.
So, what exactly sparked this explosive throwdown? The officer, who later flashed his badge to the stunned commuters, claims the young girl punched him straight in the face moments before the cameras started rolling. He told the carriage he just "didn't want to get punched in the face again." However, the teen fired back, yelling that she was just trying to stop a group of guys from robbing her cousin while he seemingly stood by.
The heavy-handed tactics completely shocked the carriage. One male passenger stepped up to confront the cop directly, demanding his badge number and loudly calling out the physical takedown as a completely "unnecessary escalation" against a minor who was clearly not a threat.
The fallout online has been absolutely brutal, with social media users tearing into the officer's aggressive handling of a child. Despite the massive public backlash and the viral outrage, WA Police have officially slapped the 13-year-old with a common assault charge and issued her a juvenile caution. Authorities confirmed the officer received minor injuries and stated they have pulled the train's CCTV to actively review the highly controversial incident.
