Arrogant predator gets 17 years for a shocking one hour rampage

The chilling details of a horrifying one-hour rampage have finally been exposed as a 19-year-old predator is handed a massive prison sentence. Sonny Boyes has just been locked up for 17 years after subjecting two teenage girls to a terrifying ordeal in Devon, proving just how fast a monster can strike when left unchecked on the streets.

The nightmare unfolded on the evening of May 9, 2025, near the Digby and Sowton train station in Exeter. In a shocking timeline presented to the Exeter Crown Court, it was revealed that Boyes first targeted a 16-year-old girl just before 9:00 PM. After stepping off a train, he launched a brutal attack, raping and sexually assaulting the teenager before she miraculously managed to break free, flee the immediate area, and desperately call for help.

But the teenager's brave escape didn't stop his sick spree. A mere 45 minutes later, the unhinged 19-year-old locked his sights on a second victim, a 17-year-old girl near the exact same train station. What started as him striking up a seemingly casual conversation quickly took a dark and forceful turn. Despite the girl repeatedly telling him no, Boyes launched a persistent assault that actually continued after they boarded a train. The victim bravely yelled at him to stop, hoping other passengers would hear her desperate pleas. It wasn't until Boyes finally stepped off at the next stop that horrified members of the public and train staff rushed to help the traumatized teen and called the police.

Authorities didn't waste any time hunting him down. Police armed with body-worn cameras swooped in and arrested Boyes in the Exeter city centre later that same night. Despite pleading not guilty and forcing the young girls to endure a trial, a jury saw right through his lies, convicting him of nine horrific sexual offences, including two counts of rape.

When the hammer finally fell in court, the judge did not hold back, slamming Boyes for his breathless arrogance, distorted thinking, and deeply ingrained misogynistic views. The judge noted how the predator used a calculated mix of charm and alarm to trap his victims. Boyes is now facing 17 years behind bars with an extended license of seven years. He will be permanently etched onto the sex offenders register for the rest of his life, ensuring authorities keep a close eye on him long after his release. Detectives praised the unbelievable courage of the two young girls, noting that putting this highly dangerous predator away would never have been possible without their immense bravery.
