Christopher Moyer Family Murders

The tragic incident involving the Moyer family unfolded in 2011, casting a dark shadow over Warrington, Pennsylvania. Christopher Moyer, a resident of the town, perpetrated a heinous act by taking the lives of his family before ending his own in a devastating manner—by allowing a train to run over him.

The harrowing sequence of events began when Moyer, after confessing to the police about the murder of his family, left his residence and took his own life. By the time law enforcement arrived, Moyer had already departed from the scene.
Approximately three hours later, Moyer's lifeless body was discovered beside the SEPTA tracks in Hatboro. Eerily, he had positioned himself on the railway tracks, choosing a train as the instrument of his own demise.

The unresolved mystery surrounding the motives behind Moyer's atrocious actions continues to haunt the family and friends to this day. His decision to report the deaths of his wife and son prompted a swift police investigation.

Multiple police departments, including Warrick, Warminster, and Warrington, converged on Moyer's residence in the 100 block of Redstone Drive. Cautious about the potential presence of the caller, officers hesitated to enter the house. Upon gaining access, they discovered the suspected murderer along with the lifeless bodies of the two victims.

A bloodied baseball bat lay next to the child, and the absence of signs of resistance led investigators to conclude that both victims were likely asleep when Christopher Moyer took their lives.

Subsequently, Moyer's lifeless body was found on the railway track, accompanied by personal belongings and approximately $1300 in his pocket. Authorities revealed that the 44-year-old Warrington man had used a baseball bat to commit the gruesome murders before taking his own life in a tragic and disturbing manner—laying in front of an oncoming train. The chilling 911 call he made at around 9:40 p.m. on that fateful Friday night marked the beginning of this heart-wrenching and perplexing series of events.
